Cremated ashes are normally scattered near by. Family Gardens Private beds have been especially created to provide a natural setting for memorials. Family gardens are dedicated to one family and allow the burial of up to four sets of ashes. Each garden is individually planted and provides a distinct, private area for you to visit and tend. Trees A variety of trees have been planted in our garden of remembrance to provide a living, natural memorial. In some places, private planting areas can be created underneath the tree to create a unique memorial. Boulders & Stones A range of granite pebbles, boulders and carved stones that can be engraved with the dedication of your choosing and placed with your living memorial. The process requires only a small amount of ashes, typically two tablespoons per item ordered and each finished piece is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Each item is available in a range of colours. All of our personal memorials are made on a strictly individual basis and every possible care is taken to ensure that the ashes of your loved-one are treated with the utmost respect at all times; nothing is left to chance.
Book of Remembrance Click here for further details... The book of remembrance is on view daily in a display cabinet in our chapel of remembrance. Please ask the office if you are not sure about its location. The book provides an inexpensive yet permanent memorial with entries recorded by hand on every day of the year. Entries can also be made for people whose funeral took place elsewhere as it can provide a place of remembrance for families who have become separated or moved apart. The Book consists of a number of hand made, richly-bound volumes and has a page for every day of the year. Usually, the entry is placed on the date of death but other anniversaries can be chosen as well. The pages are turned daily. Flowers and cards can be placed in the chapel of remembrance with the permission of the manager. Book of Remembrance Pack Families often choose to have an entry in the main book together with a number of memorial cards and books for close relatives and friends. The Miniature Book of Remembrance and Memorial card are intended as personal keepsakes or for sending to friends and relatives who cannot easily visit the Chapel of Remembrance. Both bear a copy of the inscription from the main book. The miniature book also contains extra pages for future entries to be added so that a family record can be created. The purpose of this section is to outline the many options available for memorialisation of loved ones within the Gardens of Remembrance.This can be with the planting of an individual rose, shrub or tree. Plaques in a variety of materials can also be placed in selected areas throughout the gardens. A living memorial can provide a personal place to visit and remember, it can also be a worthwhile contribution to the environment. A plaque may be ordered to accompany any rose, shrub or tree. Whichever memorial you choose, the Garden of Remembrance provides a special place to remember. With the exception of the Book of Remembrance all memorials are subject to a lease, ranging from ten to eighty years. See price list for further details. This type of memorial gives relatives the opportunity for cremated remains of their loved ones to be interred in a wooden casket, with a granite memorial in black or dark grey to be placed on the burial plot. There is an option of up to two inscriptions per memorial.

This memorial is a smaller version of a traditional grave found in cemeteries with a headstone and kerbs, they each measure two foot square, and are available in black, dark or light grey granite.The cremated remains are laid to rest in a wooden casket, and two interments can take place at each dedicated memorial.

Each garden is dedicated to one family and provides a lasting natural memorial for the interment of cremated remains. Each garden is provided with a flower container and is individual in its design and planting.

Plaques are prepared from photographs supplied by the family and can be of any size and with any background, although the best reproductions are made from uncluttered images. The computer enhancement will remove imperfections, background shading and will adjust the photo to fit the plaque.The original photograph can then be returned to the family.

At Aberystwyth Crematorium there are three areas where plaques can be positioned.The plaques provide the means of remembering loved ones whose cremated remains have been interred in the Garden of Remembrance or elsewhere.

Granite, marble or slate plaques are available in single or double and are positioned within the area as you leave the service room.

Bronze plaques are placed on this wall which is located by the entrance to the Book of Remembrance room. Flower containers have been set out for the placement of flowers.

1. Shrub Bed - Ardd Pryscoed

Beds of pre-planted azalea and potentilla shrubs. twenty in total. Cremated remains are interred loosely by the shrub with an inscribed plaque. Different types of plaques are available which allows greater scope for a more personalised inscription.

Benches - Meinciau

Park benches can form another type of memorial.Wooden benches are provided bearing a bronze plaque.The bench would be sited in appropriate areas within the grounds.

Families purchase a bronze plaque in memory of a loved one which is placed onto the bench. A maximum of six dedicated plaques will be allowed on anyone bench.

Niches - Colfachau

Feature wall that provides a resting-place for the cremated remains of a loved one. Each niche is sealed with an inscribed slate plaque.

Trees & Shrubs - Coed a Pryscoed

There are many interesting trees and shrubs to be seen and admired throughout the Gardens of Remembrance.These have been selected for their flowers and foliage and space has been allowed for them to mature as nature intended. Cremated remains are interred adjacent to the chosen tree or shrub and commemorated with an inscribed plaque in bronze or slate.

This memorial is a bed of pre planted shrubs of various foliage. Cremated remains are interred loosely within the bed and a plastic plaque is inscribed to commemorate your loved one. Other types of plaques are available for placement within the shrub bed, please call to discuss.
